We are delighted to congratulate Sports Data Labs, Inc. on launching an Athlete Data Lab in partnership with Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Sports Data Lab founders Mark Gorski, JD and Stan Mimoto are both alumni of the university and the partnership will create the first-ever academic lab focused on the legalities associated with collection, processing, usage and ownership of personal data.
The Athlete Data Lab is designed to produce clarity on both a state-by-state and country-by-country level to the critical legal issues related to the interplay between privacy and intellectual property rights, as well as issues related to the recognition of personal data as a form of digital property.
