Lawrence Lim
Managing Director
Lawrence Lim is a Managing Director at EmergeVest, with responsibilities across investment origination, execution and portfolio management.
Mr. Lim has over 18 years of extensive experience across private equity, investment banking, and corporate finance.
Prior to joining EmergeVest, Mr. Lim held pivotal investment banking leadership roles in sector coverage, leveraged finance, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), successfully executing over US$50 billion in transactions for corporate and private equity clients worldwide.
Mr. Lim served as Head of Transportation and Logistics Investment Banking, Asia in his prior role at Deutsche Bank, where he spent seven years working across New York and Hong Kong offices within the Industrials & Infrastructure, Consumer & Retail, Agriculture and M&A divisions. Mr. Lim’s earlier career includes significant tenures at UBS Investment Bank, Nomura Securities, and Wachovia Securities.
An active contributor to Hong Kong’s private equity community, Mr. Lim is a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association’s Education and Research Committee and serves as an instructor for HKVCA’s Private Equity Fundamentals Deal Financing Course. He also sits on the Executive Committee of the University of Virginia Hong Kong Club.
Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Lim is a passionate endurance athlete who accomplished his “40 by 40” goal—completing 40 marathons and triathlons worldwide before turning 40.
Mr. Lim earned a Bachelor of Science (Distinction) in Systems and Information Engineering from the University of Virginia, complemented with double minors in Economics and Business.
