Prior to joining EmergeVest, Mr. MacGowan worked on integrations for IHS Markit (NASDAQ), multiple European acquisitions for Temenos (SWX/SIX), the joint-venture between JPMorgan and Cazenove including the associated demerger of Cazenove Capital Management. Furthermore, he co-founded QMGi, a data analytics provider to Equity fund managers across Australia, EMEA and the USA, and has experience as a COO in private equity owned digital and SaaS companies.

He holds a BA (History) and LLB from the University of Melbourne, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town. Admitted to the High Court of Australia as a barrister and solicitor, he has previously served as a trustee/governor at educational charities in London.
